Crazy stuff. Yes, in case everyone was wondering, I did survive and never got sick! Kind of surprising actually hahah, but I managed to stay safe. I can't really remember much about this week, not much has happened. Last wednesday, like I mentioned, we got new Russian missionaries!! That was super exciting! They are all pretty awesome. And smart. I feel like they are all learning so much faster that we did which is a little bit scary. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting and in our branch it's all in Russian and there were some of the kids who had been there for 4 days who got up and bore their testimonies in Russian! And they made sense. I was impressed. I also got up and was terrified, but I felt the need to do it. I think it was at least understandable haha.
I also was officially put into a tripanionship this week officially and the new companion is Elder Sehnert! The super smart guy who switched zones to be in our class. Anyways, he is most defintiely on my list of like top 10 favorite people in the world. He is absolutely hilarious. He is so formal and proper about everything. Elder Fernandez and I have started giving him words of the day to use - like slang bascially (i.e. Fly, sick, tight) and he has to find a way to use them. Yesterday, he and I were walking by one of the other classrooms and somebody had just described something as "sick" and I said, "see, people do say that" and his response was "ooo, native speakers!" I almost died laughing! It was so funny. He in turn, has also given us some more proper words to use. So far we've had, salmagundi, attavistic, and trite. It's pretty funny. I love him, he's great.
This week, our whole district went a little crazy.. I think you just go a little insane after you have been here for 8 weeks (working on week 9 now). Side note to go along with that, a month from last friday, I will be on a plane (probably to Moscow)!! Exciting! We should probably be getting our travel plans in the next 2 weeks or so. We were all just a little bit crazy and all had mini breakdowns at some point. Mine was Monday. The whole day was just terrible, but it all got better yesterday afternoon and I think we are all back to normal.
Also, I'm not sure if I told you last week, but my old district is teaching Brother Kulikovskyi as an investigator and so he has started bringing me and Elder Fernandez into their lessons and his character's sons. My name is Kolya and I am meeting with the missionaries with my dad because he was just recently baptized and I am not really a fan of the church. My dad, however wants to help me see that it's not so bad. Elder Fernandez's character, Mitya, is totally into it and might be getting baptized soon. Brief background on Kolya: I'm 21. I used to be an alcoholic, but went to rehab cause it got so bad. I also used to be super obese apparently, but in rehab they put me on some exercise program. Someother things that I kinda forgot about too, but that's Kolya in a nutshell. Its kinda fun to be an "investigator" for my old district and they have to take is seriously because they always meet with me and my dad (the teacher). I like it.
Hmmm.. some other fun things.. One of our teacher's sisters just got her mission call this week to Kyiv, Ukraine. One Elder in the other zone, going to St. Pete's too, his older brother went to Ukraine Russian speaking and he is now going to Russia. I'm gaining hope for you Logan! You're going Russian! I'm so glad you started your papers, BTW! Hurry and get your appointments done and submit them! I want to know where you go before I leave! All of my friends here know you've started them and I want to tell them all where you're going!
Also, in my new district we've planned a road trip together and also, CT. Nooda and I have been planning a post mission party in Vegas (where he's from). Pretty cool. We've got days 1-4 planned already. He's going to St Petersburg with me though so it won't be too much of a reunion haha. He's a pretty awesome guy. Everyone here is great!
Last night we had a super good devotional from a guy from the 70. He talked a lot about making sure that during your mission, you set patterns for life. The daily routine we get into shouldn't necessarily be just for the mission but should be good life pattern for us. One thing he said that I absolutely loved was "The easiest path makes both men and rivers crooked". I loved it!! Such a good standard to live by! Remember that everyone and apply it.
I can't really think of anything else this week, but be looking forward to next week and I head into week 10 of the MTC - double digits!!
Love you all, thanks for everything!!
До свидания
